As a church we are privileged to be able host a
number of ministries that seek to reach out in various ways. There is a
place to call your own. We believe that for everyone God has a place
that brings life, peace, joy, and rest. It may be in a small group,
helping with the children or youth ministries, organizing a retreat, or
participating in a prayer service. It is really about a celebration of
life and the many ways that God works in our lives.

• Altar Society
Our mission is to
enhance worship at St. Bernard Parish by devoting our time and talent
to creating an altar and sanctuary that exemplifies the glory of God
and to promote friendship and fellowship among all people of the
parish, regardless of age or length of time a person has been a parish
member.
• El Shaddai
El Shaddai is
a Catholic charismatic renewal movement from the Philippines founded by
Mariano Mike Velarde.
• Holy Name
Society
The Holy Name Society is
committed to helping its members grow in holiness through devotion to
the most Holy Name of Jesus.
• Italian Catholic Federation
The Italian Catholic
Federation is a fraternal, Catholic, family organization working with
the parish to achieve the goals of charitable works and support of
seminarians.
• Knights of
Columbus
Thanks to the efforts of Father
Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New
Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature
on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a
fraternal benefit society.
• Legion of Mary
The Legion
of Mary, founded in Ireland in 1921, is a lay catholic organization
whose voluntary members give service to the church worldwide.
• Pastoral Council
Catholic pastors consult
pastoral councils in order to be better leaders. Bishops and priests
ask their councillors to investigate some aspect of the church, reflect
on it, and recommend their conclusions.
• St. Bernard Catholic School
St. Bernard Catholic
School is composed of qualified teachers and administrators dedicated
to fulfilling the mission and philosophy of St. Bernard Catholic School
and to working tirelessly to ensure that all students meet our
Schoolwide Learning Expectations.
• St. Vincent de Paul Society
Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (or
“Vincentians") are men and women who strive to grow
spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in
need.
• Youth Ministry
Youth ministry is an
age-specific religious ministry and is the way in which a faith group,
or other religious organization involves and engages with the young
people who attend its place of worship, or live in its community.
