Pentecost Sunday
By Father Perry D. Leiker
"It may look really look from the
outside: We may never miss a Sunday Mass or a communion ever! But it doesn't
mean that we're Spirit-filled," Father Perry tells us in his homily for
Pentecost Sunday. "We have to seek and want the Spirit to come in. The Spirit is
meant to inspire us to be a church that wants to be a Pentecost church — not
just on the feast of Pentecost, but always."

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord
By Father Perry D. Leiker
"We have to go. And you will be
on your own," Father Perry tells us in his homily for the Solemnity of the
Ascension of the Lord. "My Spirit will teach you all that you need to know and
will guide you and lead you. Jesus' leaving is a really important part of the
whole story of Jesus. The Ascension is that great feast that's stops us in our
tracks and makes us realize everything will come to an end. It will always keep
moving on, but it always has the power to
teach."
